Kitchen refreshes in Tampa Bay
A cosmetic kitchen refresh keeps the layout where it is and changes everything you actually look at — cabinets, countertops, backsplash, floor, paint and hardware. It's most of the visual result of a full remodel, without moving plumbing, opening walls or pulling a structural permit.
What it costs
Three common sizes, all at mid-range finishes — the same basis as the number above. Your own number depends on size, material and access — the estimator asks about all three and takes about a minute.
Galley
Around 120 sq ft. One cabinet run, compact counter area.
Standard
Around 180 sq ft. The most common Tampa Bay kitchen.
Open
Around 260 sq ft. Island, longer runs, more countertop.
These are planning ranges built from current Tampa Bay material and labor costs — the same figures we price real jobs on. They are not a quote. Your firm, itemized price follows photos and measurements.

What's different about a Tampa Bay kitchen
Almost every house out here is slab-on-grade, which is good news — no joists to work around and no subfloor rot to find. It also means the flooring going in has to be rated for a slab, and that a moisture reading before tile goes down is worth the ten minutes it takes.
Countertop lead time is the thing that actually sets your schedule. Slab material gets templated after the cabinets are set, then fabricated, then installed — so the counter is usually the long pole, not the cabinets. We tell you that date up front rather than discovering it in week three.
If you're in one of the master-planned communities — FishHawk, Waterset, Panther Trace, Union Park — interior work generally doesn't need HOA approval, but dumpster placement and contractor parking often do. We check before the first truck shows up.
Questions
Is a refresh the same as a full remodel?
No, and the difference is the point. A refresh keeps your layout — sink, range and plumbing stay where they are. That's what keeps it in the low five figures instead of the high five figures, and it's why it doesn't need the permitting and structural work a full gut does.
Can you move the sink or add an island with plumbing?
Not as part of a refresh. Relocating plumbing or electrical is licensed work and a licensed trade handles it separately — we'll tell you honestly when what you want has crossed that line, and what it changes.
Refacing or replacing the cabinets?
If the boxes are solid and the layout works, refacing gets you most of the visual change for a good deal less. If the boxes are particleboard and sagging, or you want a different configuration, replace them. We'll tell you which one your kitchen is after seeing the photos.
How long will my kitchen be out of action?
It depends on scope and countertop lead time. We give you a date range with the quote and tell you as soon as anything moves — that's the part most people actually care about.
Do you handle appliances?
Appliances aren't in the number. Most people buy their own — we'll make sure the cabinet openings are sized right for what you've picked, so tell us early.
